My parents were shit scared when they arrived. I was surprised that they locked themselves in their bedroom and huddled under the blankets. I went in and asked them what was wrong, and they told me we were in that movie. I understood immediately, pursed my lips and muttered under my breath, “Let’s flush out this ghost.”

Because apparently they were being haunted by a ghost. I turned on all the lights in the house and opened all the doors. When something weird would happen, I would immediately run to the source of the noise and look for the fucking ghost. I wasn’t successful in the first few tries but I had a good look at it by the 6th manifestation. It was a gremlin ghost with hollow eyes, twigs in its hair and a white dress.

My parents and I chased it outside to our lawn, now an acre across. A bunch of mercs on different vehicles drive in from around the corner into our lawn and ask me, “Is this the Oranos’?” to which I reply yes. They try to run us over with their motorcycles, bulldozers, Zambonis, lawnmowers, wheat harvesting machines and stuff. They also had blunt weapons with them.

I think I picked up a bat and smashed around half of them before I woke up.

Last night, I dreamt I was at church, attending Mass, when girls from my high school appeared in the aisles wearing dresses. They were dancing to traditional music. After a minute, they started getting rashes and they were just twirling masses of inflamed skin and everyone screamed in horror. The parishioners ran away while I sprayed steroids on my old classmates. By the lack of epinephrine, they died. I clutched the asthma inhaler and carried a friend’s disfigured, swollen body to the altar, crying and blaming God for their untimely demise.
